Suzani Pillows Made from Uzbek Embroideries

Suzanis are finely embroidered textiles from Uzbekistan and beyond in Central Asia.  Long the work of incredibly talented tribal women, these textiles are works of art that are commonly made as part of a dowry.  We collect vintage suzanis from our network of dealers in Turkey and have them made into pillows in Istanbul.  We also work with contemporary artisanal workshops that create new pillows for us that sometimes reverse to handwoven silk ikat.
