Block print

Block printed textiles have been made for centuries, and we love this slow, layered art form for it's handmade quality and authentic materials.  Hand carved wooden blocks are designed to build a pattern from the base up.  A floral pattern can have half a dozen or more blocks that build upon each other to form the design - the lines of a vine, then the leaves of the plant, then the multicolored petals of a flower - all in varying shades and layered over one another to create a pretty floral motif.
